Abstract: Campus open space is an important element to create high-quality campus environment and to shape the overall campus image. It is the most dynamic place and a symbol of the spirit of the campus. However, there often exist problems in the Campus Planning in China such as lack of open space，monotonous forms, fracture of the historical context and so on. The paper relies on the basic concepts of the theory of open space and the analysis of the campus of Tsinghua University to sum up the characteristics of its type, and to provide some methods in the planning of campus open space.
