Abstract: Under the background of rapid urbanization, the intrinsic links between the scenic spot and its city are getting increasingly closer, so the design of the boundary between them has become more and more important. The boundary delimitation is guided by the resource value and accomplished in macro-scale; the land use at the boundary and relationship between the city and the spot should be studied in meso-scale; the design of Urban National Park boundary is considered in micro-scale. According to the Fractal Theory and Hierarchy Theory, the article discusses the boundary in three scales: macro, meso and micro. Focusing on the major characteristic and relationship of different scales, the essay forms a targeted strategy and realizes the scale transition. The adjustment of the land-use type in macro-scale forms a good interactive mechanism of the nature and city; the meso-scale optimizes the spatial order and improves the landscape experience; the micro-scale put forward four types of boundary space and corresponding design strategies.
