Abstract:  This article is about the restoration and regeneration design of Palacio Belmonte, a boutique hotel located in Lisbon, Portugal. The design was aimed to respect the context of the site and its setting from a broad landscape point of view. It reveals the Western understanding of authenticity in the angle of aesthetics; or, it could be regarded as an Eastern architect’s vision in the context of  Western culture.

摘要： 2011年笔者受D.a.S.T可持续基金会委托进行了葡萄牙历史建筑Palacio Belmonte精品酒店扩建项目的修复与更新设计，设计从大景观视野出发探讨对项目文脉的尊重，从审美诉求出发对西方文化语境下的原真性进行反思，进行了一场东方建筑师视野与西方文化语境的对话。
