Abstract: Background:Under regular epidemic prevention and control, three major trends of aging, fewer children, and non-marriage in China are accelerating. On June 26, 2021, the CPC Central Committee and State Council released Decisions on Optimizing the Childbearing Policy to Promote Long-term Balanced Development of Population, implementing the policy that a couple can have three children and introducingpositive childbearing support measures. Establishing an outdoor environment that facilitates physiological and travel safety of pregnant women, alleviates pressure, and helps them acquire resources has potentiallypositive influences on theirfeelings and health outcomes. Objective: This study reviewed the influence of outdoor environmental supports on thehealth of pregnant women. Through literature review, the environmental factors that influence pregnant women's health as well as their basic paths of influence were proposed. By combiningtherelationship between pregnant women's health and environmental factors withthe pressure recovery theory agreeing with the "environmental role" of pregnant women, apossible overall action mechanism modelwas proposed to guide design practices. An evaluation system was alsoestablished to provide a basis for research. Methods: Based on literature review, the Web of Science core database and CNKI Chinese database were selectedand a global analysis was carried out by using CiteSpace's literature biliometric analysis. The hierarchical strategies and flow chart of literature evaluation studies which were summarized by Jiang systematically in 2020 were applied to organize relevant studies in six layers. Evaluating the influence of specific environmental factors on the health outcomes of pregnant women is based on reliable, credible, and valid data. Subsequently, 13 studies were reviewed comprehensively and three health outcome influences were determined: 1) physiological safety of pregnant women, 2) psychological stress of pregnant women, and 3) social supports to pregnant women. These three types cover physiological influences, psychological influences, and social influences. Results:The study results cover three points from the perspective of research trends. (1) Neighborhood environment, residential/community environment, and built environment are major environmental objects in current studies. (2) Environmental factors, such as air pollution, walkability, and greenland exposurecan alldirectlyinfluence the physiological and travel safety of pregnant women. (3) Environmental factors can also influence the health of pregnant women indirectly through physical activities and potential psychological stress, such as physical environmental barriers, environmental uncivilized behaviors, social supports, distance to entertainment facilities, acquisition of healthy foods, and so on. Conclusions: This study found that due to physiological barriers like poor health and physical pains or quick changes in social environment, pregnant women have high requirements forrecovery from living environmental pressure. They have a property of "environmental roles' in common with the "supportive design theory (SDT)" research of Roger S.Ulrich. Furthermore, this study proposed the possible overall action mechanism model forenvironmental factors’ influence on the health of pregnant women by combining SDT and "stimuli-cognition-reaction" theory. Thisemphasizes the function of the outdoor environment in promoting the health of pregnant women. Finally, the table of outdoor supportive environmental factors that influence health of pregnant women was summarized. Limitations: This study did notconduct a systematic evaluation ora factor analysis of influences of various environmental factors on health of pregnant women. The proposed overall action mechanism model must still be verified and refined.
