Abstract: Courtyard is the basic unit to constitute a building space. It can unify the space, strengthen the atmosphere of life, and create a pleasant micro-environment. It has been widely used in the traditional houses in China. This paper analyzes the characteristics of courtyard space and the limitations of tradition inheritance in modern settlements, using case studies to explore how the courtyard space was skillfully applied to the design of modern settlements, and puts forward some design strategies into modern settlements design.

摘要： 院落是构成建筑空间的基本单位，它能够凝聚空间，强化生活气息，创造怡人的小环境，在我国传统民居中得到广泛运用。本文分析了院落空间的特征与现代住区在传统延续方面的局限性，结合实例探讨如何将院落空间合理运用到现代住区的设计中，并提出将院落空间融入现代住区的一些策略与思考。
