Abstract: Nanzhuang village, located in the northwest of Jucheng Town, Pingding County, Yangquan City, Shanxi Province, is a typical traditional village in the east of Shanxi Province. The village surrounded by beautiful environment is situated at the foot of a hill and beside the stream which named Wen River with an unique and complete pattern. The buildings were built attaching to mountain land form, resulting in a terraced, step-like appearance , rich texture and space. In 2014, Nanzhuang village was announced for the third batch of Traditional Chinese Village owing to its high historical and architectural aesthetic value. Based on vast on-the-spot investigation and analysis, the paper is trying to discuss the value，characteristics and traditional buildings of the village.
